By the end of today’s class, you should be able to do the following:
* Describe the Atterberg limits: plastic limit, and liquid limit, tell how they are measured in the laboratory, and explain what they are used for.
* Calculate the plasticity index for a soil.
* Classify a soil sample using the USDA classification system.
* Classify a soil sample using the AAASHTO classification system.
* Classify a soil sample using the USCS classification system.
