Daily Objectives #20                                                                                         Dr. Sanders
(March 28, 2002)

By the end of today’s class, you should be able to do the following:

* Using the quantitatively accurate flow net you drew for the dam site in the last class, estimate the pressure head for any point within the sediment beneath the dam.

* Explain the differences and similarities between flow nets drawn in plan (map) view and flow nets drawn in cross section.

* Using flow nets constructed by another person, determine flow directions.

* Using water level data plotted on a map, construct a contour map of ground water levels and draw arrows indicating flow directions.
