ESCI 337
Spring, 2002

Daily Objectives #2                                                                                         Dr. Sanders
(January 10, 2002)

We will begin today's class with an assessment that will show me the skill level of the class as whole with regard to the geologic, quantitative, and other skills listed on the syllabus (See "What should you bring to this course?" on the syllabus).  The assessment will be in the format of a quiz, but it will be anonymous and ungraded.

On that assessment, I also will ask you to write the names of three of your classmates, so be prepared!

By the end of today’s class, you should be able to do the following:

 * Use dimensional analysis (also known as the factor-label method) to solve quantitative hydrogeologic problems.

 * Determine the correct number of significant figures to use in reporting the results of hydrogeologic calculations.
