By the end of today's class, you should be able to do the following:

v Ground Water Flow Rates

Confidently use the following formulas to make calculations regarding ground water flow rates:

Darcy's Law
the formula for average linear velocity, and
the formula rate x time = distance

v Ground Water Contamination and Remediation

        Describe the following remediation methods with regard to their use and applicability:

                Source removal
                "Dig and dump"
                "Pump and treat"
                Plume control: slurry walls, gradient (flow) manipulation
                Bioremediation
                Permeable Reactive Barrier (PRB)
                In-situ Redox Manipulation (ISRM)

v Plumebusters: A case of ground water contamination

Using Plumebusters , test out several remediation methods. Using each of the methods, estimate the cost required to fully remediate the aquifer.
