Homework #2 (Due
February 3, 2009)
Sanders
Present the work your group did on a "water movement" experiment. In your
presentation, convey to your audience the following:
Purpose: The question you were trying to answer
Methods: The experimental set-up and experimental protocol you followed. (What did you do? What did you measure, and how? What steps did you take to prevent experimental error from creeping in?)
Results: Your data. These are often--though not always--in the form of tables, graphs, numbers, photos, or diagrams.
Discussion: Your analysis of the data and what you observed/measured.
Conclusions: Did you arrive at an answer to the question you posed? If so, what is it? What other questions came up as you worked? Is there anything else you would recommend to someone who wants to pursue this same experiment, or to take it one step further?
