By the end of today’s class, you should be able to do the following:
* Locate the
following places on a map of the world:
Japan, Hawaii, San Francisco California, Yellowstone National Park, the
India/Nepal border, New Zealand, Iceland, the Red Sea,
Lake Tanganyika, the Aleutian Islands, Chile, Jakarta (Indonesia), the
Azore Islands, and the Galapagos Islands.
* Read world
maps that illustrate various geologic features:
hot spots, crustal thickness, depth of earthquake focus, locations of
volcanoes, geographic features, and plate boundaries. Download
