DAILY OBJECTIVES |
By the end of
today's class, you should be able to do the
following:
w
Find the course web page, daily objectives, and
assignments. (Complete the first three assignments by the
assigned due date!)
w
Log in to the class wiki, edit a page, and save
it.
w
Describe
different strategies maps and globes use to illustrate topography
(raised-relief, topographic, color-coded/shaded).
w
Using the world map you brought in today, and
the resources available in the classroom, make a
table in your notebook listing the
topographic and geographic
setting of each of the fourteen research sites.
(Hand in your homework before you leave the
classroom!)
w
Describe these two ways rocks respond to stress:
1) brittle and 2) plastic;
and tell what conditions favor each type of
response.
w
List the names of three major layers of Earth's
internal structure based on the two responses to
stress listed above. For each layer,
describe the conditions that characterize that
layer, and tell roughly how thick it is in
comparison to the others.
