By the end of today's class, you should be able to do the following:

Draw a diagram illustrating the
hydrologic cycle.

Sketch a hydrograph and explain what it
illustrates.
w
Explain what causes flooding.
w
Explain what stream channelization is, how
to recognize it, why it might be done, and what its effects are.
w
Describe strategies that can help reduce flooding in an urban
environment.
w
After a field visit to Gompers Park (south), describe conditions in
the park that might affect flooding (either for the better or
worse).
