DRESS FOR BOTH
INDOOR AND OUTDOOR WORK THIS WEEK.
w
This week
we
will hold class in our regular lab at NEIU for an hour or two, and after
that will leave on a field trip to River Park. Do you have a
car? We will need
drivers to take classmates to the park, about one mile from NEIU.
By the end of today's
class, you should be able to do the following:
w
Describe the geologic characteristics
of the various water environments in Gompers Park. (We will visit
River Park on a field trip today!)
w
Measure water quality field parameters
and take samples in each of the environments at the confluence of the
North Branch of the Chicago River and the North Shore Channel.
w
Measure the water quality parameters
nitrate and phosphate in your water samples, and interpret their meaning.
w
Write a list what you must bring to next week's class, and a description
of how you should be dressed for class. |
