w Review:  Explain the meaning of the statement, "If it can't be grown, it must be mined."

w Review:  Describe some characteristics of Earth materials that make them suitable for specific purposes as geologic resources.

w Of the geologic materials you examined in class, tell which can be found in Illinois.

w List factors that determine whether, to meet a particular need, we might choose to use a geologic resource found in the local area, or one from elsewhere.

w Make diverse geologic observations about rock samples brought in by yourself and your colleagues.

On Thursday, we will be outdoors walking in the grassy/snowy areas of campus.  Please wear shoes that can get a bit muddy or wet!
