w Review: Explain how and why
glaciers weather, erode, transport, and deposit Earth material.
w Describe the
composition and sorting of sediment found in major landforms in the Chicago area, and
explain the processes that led to their deposition.
w Define the following terms and explain their
importance in Chicago-area geology: moraine, till, sluiceway, Outlet
Valley.
w Demonstrate
how to use the
USGS Map Locator to find online topographic maps.
w With your team,
examine topographic maps of your study area, and sketch out your field trip.
