By the end of today's class, you should be able to do the following:

w In your planner, put the date/time of an appointment with Dr. Sanders

w For the set of rock samples given, write a list of descriptive words (review).
 
w Demonstrate that you know how to use a geologic hand lens effectively.

w List the three major types of rocks and explain briefly how each type forms.

w For each of the three major rock types, list characteristics that will help you identify them when you see them again.

w Demonstrate that you can select and effectively use an appropriate and complete record-keeping method for a science lecture.
