By the end of today's class, you should be able to do the following:

Topographic Maps

w  Use contours on a topographic map to find the location of stream valleys.

w  Determine the direction of flow of a stream using contours on a topographic map.

w  Sketch what a stream valley would look like on a topographic map.   

The Mega-Mosaic

w  Determine the locations of high land and low land for a select group of topographic quadrangles.

w  Put together the information from the topographic quadrangles to complete a "mosaic" picture of topography in the area of interest.
