Although the
Changing Gears Event is now over, the needs of young women being diagnosed with or
living with breast cancer are ongoing.
The purpose of our journey from San Diego to San Francisco October 2 - 9 2004, was to raise
awareness about the unique needs of young women living with breast cancer.
I recently met a young woman from Burma who is seeking political assylum and temporarily
staying in Chicago with no family and few friends. Y-ME is providing support to her in
the form of transportation to and from her chemo treatments, and with other peer support
. It is with your help that this critical kind of support is possible.
I have reached my initial goal to raise a minimum of $5,000, surpassed my revised goal
of $7,500, but there is always the need for more. Please do what you can to
support my efforts.

Proceeds from this event benefit the programs and services offered
free-of charge by Y-ME National Breast Cancer
Organization and the Young Survival
Coalition. Please join me in ensuring no one faces breast cancer alone! I
am committed to making a difference in the fight against breast cancer by
helping others who have been touched by this disease.
