We've been informed that various organizations are soliciting donations by telephone on Berkeley's behalf. Berkeley Fire Department and the Berkeley Firefighter's Association are not affiliated with any telephone solicitation firms. The Berkeley Firefighter's Association is the only organization authorized to solicit donations on behalf of the Berkeley Fire Department.
Each year the Berkeley Firefighter's Association hosts this dance, which represents our major fundraising event, held annually the week after Easter. Join us for a night of dancing fun Saturday, April 18, 1998 from 8:00 pm to Midnight, at the Elmhurst American Legion Hall, 310 Butterfield Rd. (Rt. 56 & Spring Rd.), Elmhurst, Il. We cordially invite you to attend.

Because of you, Berkeley Fire Department celebrates its seventy fourth year of service to our neighbors and the community. You've helped us maintain one of the finest and best equipped fire departments in the area, at a minimal cost to the taxpayer. In addition, we provide you with State certified firefighters and ambulance service with our State certified Emergency Medical Technicians.

Your continued generous cash donations make this, our major fund raising event, a pleasant way to improve our service while involving the community. For example, with the proceeds of last year's Association dance, two AED's (Automatic Electric Defribulators), one for our ambulance and one for our rescue pumper. Over the years we purchased useful items such as a battery optimizer which increases the life of portable 2-way radio batteries. A replacement video camera for fire investigations. Upgraded our Lukas Hydraulic Heavy Rescue tools. Purchased and installed an in house air compressor system which reduces the response time of our emergency vehicles. Helped purchase Berkeley's RUOK computer system, which automatically calls our home bound residents daily. Purchased computers and software which helps us manage Berkeley Fire Department records As always, we are here to serve you day or night for any fire or medical emergency.
