FOR PROPOSALS
Celebrating
Chicago’s and Northeastern’s diversity, the 15th Conference
of the ISHS, welcomes proposals reflecting diversity in humor whether
socially, functionally, ethnically, nationally, or situationally. Proposals
for papers, colloquia, posters, and workshops will be refereed by ISHS
members and will inform submitters of their decision by February 15, 2003.
Deadline for all submissions is
January
15th, 2003.
Paper
Sessions
Paper
sessions will be 90 minutes in length with each speaker allotted twenty to
twenty-five minutes for the presentation with additional time for questions.
Papers should focus on original
research in humor.
Paper proposals should include
·
three copies
of an abstract that is no longer than 350 words.
·
one of the
three copies should contain
·
the title of the paper and
·
the author’s name, affiliation, address, telephone
number, and e-mail address.
·
The other
two copies of the abstract should be accompanied by only the author’s
name and the paper’s title.
All
prospective paper presenters must register for the entire conference and
pay registration fees at the time that they submit their proposal.

Sessions
Poster

four-by-five foot space for presentation.
Proposals should include
·
a completed
registration
form,
·
three copies of an abstract
that is no longer than 350 words.

one of the three copies should

affiliation, address, telephone number, and e-mail address.
·
the other two copies of the
abstract should be accompanied by only the author’s name and the
poster’s title.

Colloquia
Colloquia
consisting of three or four presentations should be planned for a 90-minute
period. Colloquia
proposals should contain
·
a cover page
with
·
the titles of the symposium and of all included papers
·
the name, affiliation, address, telephone number, and e-mail
address of the chair and of each contributor.
·
three copies
of
an overview, of no
more than 350 words of the symposium,
·
three copies of each of the
separate abstracts, of no more than 350 words each.

prospective Colloquia
chairs and presenters must register for the entire
conference and pay registration fees at the time that they submit their
proposal.

Workshops
Workshops
should be planned for a single 90-minute instructional/ working session
with one, two, or three presenters/facilitators.
Proposals should include
·
a completed
registration
form
·
three copies of a 200 to
350-word abstract reflecting the full content of the proposed presentation
·
the names,
affiliations, addresses, telephone numbers, and e-mail addresses of all
presenters.
All
prospective workshop presenters must register for the entire conference and
pay registration fees at the time that they submit their proposal.
