Program Benefits
Honors Program graduates are recognized as scholars who have
sought
challenge and greater intensity in their learning experience.
Honors course experiences are
highlighted on the student’s transcript. After a student
completes the Honors Student Level (the freshman and
sophomore program), or Honors Scholar Level (the junior and
senior program), the achievement is noted on the transcript.
Advantages
of the Honors Program:
-
Small class size encourages and allows for interactive
learning experiences and greater student-professor
communication.
-
The pace of Honors courses is rigorous, stimulating and
challenging.
-
The curriculum is interdisciplinary and
research-oriented and prepares students for the rigors
of graduate school or a demanding profession.
-
Tuition scholarships are available to especially
qualified students.
-
Priority registration allows Honors students to register
for the courses they want at the times they need.
-
The Honors Program offers a distinctive community for
students to interact with each other and with faculty.
Social events, conferences and special seminars add to
the Honors Program experience.
-
Students who graduate from the Honors Program are
designated Honors Scholars, a distinction which is
reflected on their diplomas and transcripts.
