MATEO M. FARZANEH
(Ph. D., University of California, Santa Barbara, 2010) is an Assistant
Professor of the Islamic World and a modern Middle East historian.
His primary field of research is the Iranian Constitutional
Revolution (1905/06 - 1911) and the role of Shiite clerics in it.
He also studies Iran-Iraq relations; religious
Iranian nationalisms: and the history of Shiism. He is a
recipient of multiple fellowships and awards from the University of
California Regents, UC Santa Barbara's history department, and the
American Institute of Iranian Studies. Before joining NEIU Mateo
taught at Santa Barbara City College and California State University
Fullerton.
