LEO BACINO specializes in late 19th and 20th century U.S. economic and political history. He teaches both halves of the U.S. history survey and senior-level U.S. history classes. He has published Reconstructing Russia: U.S. Policy in Revolutionary Russia, 1917-1922 (The Kent State University Press, 1999). This study places Woodrow Wilson’s Russian policy squarely in the Progressive tradition. It argues that Wilson viewed economic assistance, not military force, as the only antidote to bolshevism. Bacino is continuing to research Wilsonian policy in revolutionary Russia and China.
