ANDREW EISENBERG

ANDREW EISENBERG. Professor, East Asian history. Ph.D., University of Washington, Seattle, 1991. Prof. Eisenberg is the author of Kingship in Early Medieval China (Brill, Leiden, The Netherlands, 2008). He teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in East Asian history (China, Japan, Korea) with a time frame ranging from the classical to early modem periods (c. 1200 BC - 1950s).  Prof. Eisenberg's field of research is classical Chinese political and social history, with articles appearing in the journals T 'oung Pao, Theory and Society, and Tang Yanjiu. He is the recipient of a 1998 China Cultural Studies Fellowship from the People's Republic of China and in recent years has been the Coordinator of the university minor in Asian Studies.
