Program Overview
Masters of Arts in Inner City Studies is a program
designed for students who intend to work in one of the
variety of positions available in human service or a
related field. A master’s project or paper is
required.
The curriculum in Inner City Studies focuses on an
interdisciplinary approach to examining the political,
economic, social, and cultural forces that impact on
inner city communities in this country and throughout
the world.
The program has established as its primary function
the retraining of inner city career persons who desire
to work in inner communities. A live interactive television
classroom connects the Center with the main campus of
Northeastern Illinois University.
The Center also provides other educational services
in cooperation with community institutions and organizations.

Admission Requirements
Students must fulfill the requirements for admission
to the Graduate College.
Degree Requirements

the completion of the program.
