True, but REHU often is. The list began as a spin-off from the ECCLESIASTICAL HISTORY LIST (ECCHST-L) in early 1994 when a slight bit of humor on that scholarly list escalated into a day of hilarity.
The list is intended for holy hillarity and religious riotousness. The listowners are no prudes, and do not mind humor that is a bit risque, but have been known to hold the line at truly offensive material (subjectively determined, of course). It can get pretty wild and the squeemish may want to try a week before becoming addicted.
