The Department is Hiring a tenure track Assistant Professor to begin Fall 2013. What follows is a copy of the advertisement submitted to the Chronicle of Higher Education:

 

Assistant Professor – Environmental Policy at Northeastern Illinois University, Department of Geography & Environmental Studies. Tenure track, PhD is required. The successful candidate will play a leading role in the department’s environmental policy and management track of the Environmental Studies B.A. and the Geography & Environmental Studies M.A. Courses will likely include US Environmental Policy, Environmental Land Use Planning, International Environmental Policy, and Sustainable Development. A research agenda and advisement of student research is required. Expertise in urban environmental issues and/or sustainable energy policy is a plus. Teaching experience is highly desirable.

G&ES is a strong and growing department, actively engaged in campus and community issues. NEIU’s Chicago location provides unparalleled networking opportunities with government agencies, environmental NGOs, universities and the private sector.
