Academic Advising Center

What is it?

     The Academic Advisement Center provides academic advising for all regular and provisionally admitted, degree seeking undergraduates who have not yet declared a major. All students are assigned to either a faculty or staff advisor with whom they are encouraged to meet until they officially declare a major.

    Throughout the advising process you will be provided with the opportunity to:

  • learn about educational options, degree requirements, and academic policies and procedure;
  • clarify educational objectives;
  • become acquainted with and use all the resources of the University to their best advantage

   The advisor's role is to help students plan a course of study that is appropriate to their educational goals and consistent with their academic strengths. The advisor provides guidance in planning a general schedule of courses and exploring various majors. The advisor also serves as an advocate, helping students with problems that are related to the academic environment and referring them to other appropriate support services when necessary.

Counseling Office

  What is it?

Northeastern's Counseling Office supports the University's primary academic mission by providing both psychological and career assistance to members of the University community. As students clarify their career goals and develop healthy ways of responding to the stresses and problems in their lives, they are better able to achieve their academic and personal goals. In this way, responsive and high quality counseling services enable students to develop to their full potential and achieve success.

   Counseling services are confidential and free of charge to all current Northeastern students.

    Career Counseling :

        The major focus of Career Counseling is to help you figure out what you want to do as a job or career.     Psychological Counseling Services:

       Psychological counseling is available, free of charge, to currently registered Northeastern students.
