Tom Griffin
- Instructional Materials Specialist
 Tom
Griffin is a Civil Service Instructional Materials Specialist
who manages the Language Learning Lab on the 4th floor of the
Library. He majored in French and minored in Spanish as an
undergraduate student at NEIU. He was very active as a student
in our department as French Club president 1985-1989 and is a
member of the Pi Delta Phi French National Honor Society. After
he
graduated from NEIU with a B.A. in 1991, he received a
Type 9 Secondary Education teaching certificate in French with a
Spanish teaching endorsement.
In
1992, he started running the language lab in A-133 and oversaw
numerous renovations and technological upgrades before the move
to the current lab. A staunch advocate of technologically-based
instruction, Tom is excited about the new lab and its
capabilities. He assists students, faculty, staff in the Foreign
Languages and Literatures Department and trains student aides,
work study assistants and graduate assistants who work in the
Language Learning Lab. He also trains faculty and students to
use the learning software and hardware within the lab to enhance
language teaching and learning.
Tom Griffin is usually available weekdays 9 am to 5 pm (or 8 am
to 4 pm depending on the time of year and schedule needs, except
