Serge Llama, a popular French artist of the early 1970s, wrote this
song while recovering from injuries caused by a car accident. His
lyrics reflect common themes in French music and poetry; the brevity of
life and the fleeting nature of relationships. The refrain "Je t'aime
à la folie..la vie." expresses the lyricist's optimistic attitude
in the face of death and lost love. The refrain, translated as "I'm
crazy about you, life." tells us to love life and live it to the fullest,
since it will not last forever.
