Sun-Tech
Digital Language Lab Recorder
Each
computer in the lab is equipped with software for listening and
recording audio and video files much like a traditional tape
recorder. This program allows dual track recordings so students
can compare the sound of their speech to that of native speakers
on a MP3 or WAV file. The program is also used in conjunction
with X-Class
for projecting video and doing voice chat and group conference.
Teachers can use it to capture video from VCRs or to record
their voice to create lesson files in WAV, MP3 or AVI format.

Student
DLL and Teacher DLL offer more functionality that Windows Media
Player which provides only the basic playback features. Teacher
DLL (installed on the console in the front of the lab) can
function as a video player from the DVD and VCR to project
streaming video to the students, or as an intercom, and as a
model recording for oral testing. The teacher can collect
students' answers in class. Student DLL is used for students'
responses in class, and as a viewing window for DVD and VHS
videos played on the console, or for independent practice when
used to open audio and video files.
