End of Year Meeting

Hi guys,

After extensive deliberation the decision was made to take our group trip
to the Shed Aquarium. The trip will be this Thursday, 12-15. We will
meet at the Aquarium @ 1:00, and will plan on spending the afternoon
looking at the aquatic life. I don't know that there's any great connection
to medicine here, but we do get a semesterly stipend, and we will use
that to cover the entrance fees of participants. If there is any money left
over we will use that when we reconverge on an eatery of mutual choice,
which choice will be made as we wander around the aquatic wonderland.

At the aquarium means in the main entrance. If its not convenient to
congregate in the vestibule prior to buying tickets, then i will wait in the
vestibule and suffle people in as they arrive. I will contact the Aquarium
today for further details, but i wanted to get this info to you guys so you
could begin planning on attending this gala event!

I hope that many of you will be able to make it. You're welcome to bring
friends, but please remember that club funds will be used first and
primarily for club members, and prospective club members; we can only
cover the expenses of friends if we have "extra" funds left over after
covering members' expenses.

Parking. It seems to me there are only metered spots on the drive that
goes out to the planetarium, and there's a parking lot as well, but that's
not free either. I'll ask about those options today. There is also the option
of parking in the area on the west side of the tracks, west of Soldier Field,
east of Michigan Ave., i guess it would be about the 1500 block, and
walking over the bridge, which is probably what i'll do, but that's about a
mile or so jort, so if you're not into trudging thru the cold....

As to public trans, well if anyone knows about public trans perhaps you
could post the info on our forum, personally i don't know bunk about it, so
i'm not the person to try to give those directions.

Oh, and i believe everyone knows that the Aquarium is on the lake on the
south end of Grant Park. You know, over by the Planetarium, the Field
Museum, and Soldier Field.

If you plan on attending, please drop me a return e so that i have an idea
of how many people to expect, and that i know to wait for you at the
entrance. Also, let's try to be close to on time, just so that we can do this
as a group. Also, please take my #: 312-685-8500, and keep it handy just
in case....

See y'all,
David

ps. Tri-beta is having a party on 12-20 @ 3:00 in room 360, to of which we
are all invited. It is a good idea to bring along a little chow for a pot-luck
style get-together. There will be a post-party gathering for those interested
in a little de-stressing. I will forward Vicki's e so you can all know what i
know and make your decisions based on that. I will plan on attending and
i hope to see y'all there.
