In-group Motivation

Let's use this fresh start of the website and come up with ways to
motivate old and new users or members to become involved in the life
of this organization.

You can just simply reply to this post with your options.
I hope we can all participate with new ideas.

1. Help with Classes (problem solving or suggestions)
2. Study hints for GRE, PCAT, DAT, VCAT, or MCAT
3. Planning for future classes (semester basis)
4. Petitioning classes (per Dave, FHP president)
5. Organizing the best Blood Donations with RedCross (per Dave, FHP
president)
6. Organizing group volunteering
7. Organizing group Grad Schools Open House
8. Organizing group Physician/ Practice shadowing
9. Organizing various other Health related activities

wow! so many people are interested.... and yet how many people know about our website....
We definitely need to work on our site advertising. right now, it literally sucks big time...

The final name was set for
FHP.neiu.edu

Let's see how long is going to take to get the approval, and then how long until it is fully functioning.

As we're limited to seven characters,I think we're going to have to go with medclub. I like the idea of fhp, but i don't think anyone will know what it means and thus only insiders will ever hit on it.

Medclub is by far the most stable name. If I recall, it was the first name on our list. Anyway, let's wait a bit and see what others think of this option.
I just talked with Tony about this name change. He said that the only thing that's holding off the finalization of the paperwork is this name selection uncertainty.

So far, Medclub has the highest number of hits. 
I wonder why FHP.org is not popular.
Does any of you know what uic, neiu, luc, nwc, niu, uccs, lbl.gov, etc mean? These are all highly accredited education website names. 
FHP.org is by far the only name that has a highly respected organizational tone, one that would trully reflect the club's name. 
This isn't an individual's website. It's an organization. Treat it as such. Keep this little fact in mind when voting.

Guess what? Medclub is such a popular name that Google returned these many hits:

Results 1 - 10 of about 76,700 for medclub

However, there are ZERO working hits for FHP.org.
I will have to see exactly if we can just go by with the 
fhp.neiu.edu
instead of 
fhp.org.neiu.edu
(get those many dots out of the way)

Radu makes a good point for fhp. ie, there are no other fhps, but a lot of medclubs. In reality, the site is not going to be of much use to those outside of the direct realm of the club or school, so i'm developing a leaning towards fhp. Marlene made a comment that not all of us are going into medicine, but medclub doesn't mean md, pharmacy is also medicine, unfortunately we couldn't do prehealth, which is certainly the best. As second best i now cast my vote for fhp, or fhp.org, and my alternate vote for medclub.

I would like to make people aware that the final naming decision will occur during the upcoming meeting on Tuesday, 15th during regular hours. Please attend the meeting to make your choices count.
Immediately following the decision making, I am going to drop by Student Activities Office and forward the name to Tony who would release the Information Systems paperwork.
Hopefully, we won't have difficult times after that.
