Which disciplines are served by the lab? For the spring semester of 2009, 1,384 tutoring appointments were held in the Writing Lab.

  • 729 appointments were comprised of the students enrolled in classes that required writing across the curriculum.


  • 264 appointments were for students enrolled in English 101 or 102.


  • 147 appointments involved students from the English Language Program (ELP) classes.


  • 244 appointments were related to the English Competency Exam (ECE), a graduation requirement.
Each student presents a unique profile; there can be many factors contributing to their writing. Our goal is to work with each member of the student body in a way that fosters the individual’s development as a writer.
