Welcome to our guests! This is an experiment we hope will work: combining the Web 101 Seminar sessions with interested faculty who may not want to take the full "course" but are interested in dropping by for specific topics.
Of interest to those who wish to observe how quickly these technologies are changing: the WWWAssign Assignment evolved into WebAssign Assignment evolved into Hot Potatoes Assignment! This part of the course is evolving.
Today, we'll demo Hot Potatoes. See Ron Pateman's Music Concepts Demo Page for some different types of Hot Potatoes Quizzes, and for details on the cgi script, the date files, and the HTML involved.
This method of notes for lectures is something to consider. I can amend them while we meet, add stuff, including links, etc. It is a dynamic note taking method.
In the future:
At the next (April 30) session, I'll demo videconferencing
via the distance ed TV rooms, and also via the Internet, using Microsoft
NetMeeting and a WebCam. We'll also discuss briefly how to create
and maintain a listserv.
At the May 7 session, I think we should wrap up
the seminar for this term, and look at each other's pages, including those
who have been working on their own, like Diane and Loretta.
This summer, we'll redo both seminars. You
all are welcome. We'll meet on Friday afternoons in June and July.
Have you noticed the AYR feature? See the Links page for info. I think I'll add this feature throughout the site. I want to add an AYR icon or button or link, so that users can click on it and fill out an AYR Form.
Song of the Day:
Assessment is the issue, and a root definition of assessment is "to
sit down beside". So, here's my assessment song, Sit
Down Together
