NOTE: The categories of authoring tools and editors above are somewhat vague and arbitrary; Web page generators and site builders will both generate HTML for you, but site builders are designed to build and manage entire Web sites. Netscape Composer Navigator Gold is both a Web browser and a WYSIWYG page generator. HTML Editors have some of the same functions as text editors, but have special features to assist you in creating HTML. With the exception of some of the text editors that are freeware, all of these are commercial products that cost money. Most are inexpensive, but one or two have more lofty prices. In several cases, the software provider makes available a limited free trial period before you have to pay. Free trial copies of these products can also often be obtained at Internet trade conferences on CD-ROM, or directly from the software producer. The software can also be downloaded from the Internet.
