The Dr. Santos Rivera ENLACE Endowment Fund

This endowment at the NEIU Foundation has been created in honor of Dr. Santos Rivera, an NEIU administrator emeritus and the founder of the ENLACE Leadership Institute. Dr. Rivera dedicated over three decades to supporting the creation of Latino programs on campus and supported the work of many university units that support Latino educational success, including Proyecto Pa’Lante, the Mexican/Caribbean Studies, El Centro and the Chicago Teachers’ Center. The net income from the Fund is used to underwrite ENLACE program initiatives or scholarships for students. ENLACE is working in collaboration with NEIU’s Foundation to increase this endowment. The Alumni Relations Office of NEIU is working with ENLACE to create a chapter of the Alumni Association that is also involved in supporting this endowment fund development as well as a professional network for the various cohorts of Fellows.
