By using a variety of venues, including convening individuals from government, education, community, and the private sector for “charlas” (dialogues), forums or focus groups as well as the use of the Internet to communicate, ENLACE is able to highlight model programs, brainstorm for successful efforts, share information and support new and more effective methods, while advocating for policy or procedural changes to improve educational outcomes for Latino or low-income students. Six critical gaps in the pipeline were identified and have been detailed in ENLACE Leadership Institute’s Education Policy Report. The report provided recommendations related to transition stages between institutions and retention strategies in secondary schools and colleges.
