ENLACE Leadership Institute Advisory Council
An Advisory Council composed of individuals with valuable expertise who have demonstrated a strong commitment to improving the Latino educational pipeline is instrumental in advancing the various efforts and programs of ENLACE. These individuals represent the Latino community in Chicago, higher education, philanthropy, higher education professional associations, and other stakeholders from across the state and region.
This 22-member group of distinguished individuals gives of their time to improve and support Latino education opportunities. It is with this help that NEIU is supported in achieving its strategic plan of being the “institution of choice” for Latinos.
The Advisory Council provides the following:
- Advice and support in the development of strategic planning for initiatives to further the work of the ENLACE Leadership Institute.
- Support of ENLACE in helping to make NEIU a model Hispanic Serving Institution as stated in the ENLACE Leadership Institute’s vision.
- Support for expanding the Dr. Santos Rivera ENLACE Endowment.
- Support the development of an ENLACE Fellows Chapter of the Alumni Association with the goal of augmenting the professional network of past, present and future Fellows.
- Provide a network of support and mentoring for the Fellows and other ENLACE participants in the K-20 pipeline.
- Assist in cultivating and securing external support for ENLACE from strategic partners and public or private institutions.
- Strengthen the partnership with schools and the community to help improve the educational pipeline.
- Assist in advocacy efforts for policies and practices that reduce the gaps in the educational pipeline
