This accreditation covers initial teacher preparation programs and advanced educator preparation programs. NCATE is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation to accredit programs for the preparation of teachers and other professional school personnel.

Entitlement
For bachelor’s degree entitlement contact Enrollment Services 773/ 442-4000 D-101.
For master’s degree entitlement contact your program advisor.

Certification
Within a week to 10 days after initiating entitlement procedures, you can apply for certification on-line through the Online Teacher Information Service System (OTIS) at www.isbe.net/otis. You will need a Master Card or Visa credit card to pay your fees. If you do not wish to apply online, you can obtain an “Application for Teaching Certification” through Enrollment Services 773/ 442-4000 D-101.
