Major Requirements

MAJOR PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS: (read course descriptions)

Economics 215 - Principles of Macroeconomics, 3 credit hours
Economics 217 - Principles of Microeconomics, 3 credit hours
Economics 220 - Business and Economic Statistics I, 3 credit hours
Economics 303 - Intermediate Macroeconomics, 3 credit hours
Economics 304 - Intermediate Microeconomics, 3 credit hours
plus five Economics elective courses at the 300-level - One of the five electives must be a writing intensive course. Currently, the department offers Econ 320 and Econ 310 as writing intensive courses.

Total credit hours required for an Economics Major = 30

Notes:
Students must earn a grade of "C" or higher in all courses counted toward the major.
No "P" grades will be accepted.
Transfer students wishing to major in Economics must complete a minimum of 15 credit hours in Economics courses at the 300 level.
