Calculus I

Course Overview
Math 107, covers the first half of the content of single
variable Calculus.
Learning Objectives
- to develop the ability to use graphic, numeric and algebraic
reasoning in the analysis of mathematical problems;
- to gain a deeper understanding of the elementary functions;
- to begin learning the terminology, concepts and methodology of differential
and integral calculus;
- to differentiate functions constructed from the elementary functions;
- to be able to use the derivative and integral to set up and solve mathematical
models from verbal descriptions;
- to improve mathematical communication skills by writing up problem solutions
and participating in class discussions.
