Essay Assignment 3
Our third assignment is due on November 22nd. It is worth 50 point, or 5% of the final grade. Students are expected to write a brief essay of 3-4 pages typed, double-spaced, with one inch margins all around, and a Times New Roman 12-point font. You should send it to me by attachment at D-Grammenos@neiu.edu

Read Garrett Hardin's article "The Tragedy of the Commons" very carefully and offer your thoughtful response.

CMAP Meeting
The Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning (CMAP), is conducting a community planning event at NEIU to discuss the Comprehensive 2040 Plan that is being developed and to get community input. Numerous such events are being held all over the region, and community input that is gathered will help shape the future plan. This is a great opportunity to learn about the process and provide your input that will help shape the future of our region. Topics to be discussed include urban sprawl, open space/ farmland preservation, jobs and transportation.

The event is being sponsored by the Department of Geography & Environmental Studies and is open to all community members. No registration is necessary. Please refer to the details below and in the attached flyer. Please feel free to distribute/post/forward the announcement and flyer to other community members as appropriate.

Reading Assignment

  Test 3
The third test was scheduled for November 15th. Because we are so tight at the end of the semester, we will have the third test together with the fourth test on the last day of the semester, December 6th.
