Text Box: The new semester has begun and is well on its way already. The Student Activities Office wants to make sure that everyone is prepared for the spring semester. Some organizations will be electing new officers to replace those that graduated or stepped down. This training session is a great opportunity for these new officers to learn the in and outs of the Student Activities Office and the Student Text Box: Union. The session will also be an excellent opportunity for current officers to get a crystal clear clarification on SAO policies and procedures. The workshop will take place on January 17 in SU003 at 1:40 pm. It will be a fun filled hour of games, information and discussions about the Student Activities Office and Student Union. Bring all of your questions about policies and problems that you might have had and your questions will be answered. A group of volunteers delivered over 50 boxes to the Albany Park Community Center after finals in December. A special thanks goes out to Ed Text Box: Torgerson for all of his help during the drive. This semester there will be 8 slotted times and a wide variety of topics. The workshops will run in the afternoons of February 6 - 16 in room SU-214. Presenters this semester include Allen Shub, Lisa Cooper, Valerie Schiller, Tony Courier, Katherine Gleiss-Monar, Matt Specht and Sharron Evans. Topics covered this semester include interviewing skills, credit, internships, Text Box: life organization, team building, fitness, and student organization member retention. As a special event this year, Wallace Goode Jr. will be giving a keynote before the awards ceremony on Thursday, February 16 at 1:40 pm in SU 214. Mr. Goode is the Associate Dean as well as the Director of the University Community Service Center at the University of Chicago. The workshops carries a Survivor theme Text Box: with prizes being awarded to students attending the workshops. Look for more information about the Survivor Challenge Workshops coming soon!
