The Student Activities Office has created an environment designed to enhance the quality of student life on campus. The SAO provides a unique opportunity for you to explore new ideas, develop new skills, expand cultural awareness, network with faculty/staff and other student leaders, make new friends and have fun while pursuing a degree. Activities and events sponsored by student organizations such as the Northeastern Programming Board, leadership opportunities through Student Government and student clubs/organizations, and skill development through leadership conferences and workshops combine to offer Northeastern students a rich tapestry of potential involvement beyond the classroom.

The Student Activities Office is committed to providing meaningful opportunities that assist in challenging and fostering student development through co-curricular activities. The SAO will facilitate forums for nurturing leadership skills, student empowerment, civic engagement, and the development of the student as a whole. Commitment will be further expressed by cultivating opportunities for experiential learning, development of interpersonal relationships, appreciation for diversity and opportunities for community development. Ultimately, the SAO will provide engaging opportunities that compliment the University mission and enhance the NEIU experience.
