Faculty-Led International Study Programs

Northeastern Illinois University (NEIU) sponsors a variety of faculty-led international study programs in which a short-term (1-3 weeks) international study trip to one or more locations is an integral part of an NEIU course. These programs are very affordable and less time-consuming for students with demanding jobs or family responsibilities. Graduate and undergraduate students at Northeastern have studied and traveled to Belize, China, Cuba, England, Fiji, India, Jamaica, Mexico, New Zealand and to various European cities such as Amsterdam, Brussels, Munich, Paris, Prague and Vienna. Students who have taken part in an international study trip have this experience noted on their transcripts.

NEIU students eligible for financial aid may be able to apply some of their awards towards international study programs.

NEIU faculty members who are interested in developing an international study program are welcome and encouraged to attend a workshop on writing proposals for short term faculty-led international study programs. Please contact Ms. Rubee Fuller, Coordinator of International Programs, for more information about the workshops.
