  • Work with scientists of the USDA Agricultural Research Service, National Soil Erosion Research Laboratory
  • Location: West Lafayette, IN
  • Dates:  Start immediately after Spring 2013 semester; end in early to mid August 
  • Live in a group setting on or near the campus of Purdue University
  • Time commitment: about 40 hours/week; some flexibility  required.
  • Stipend: $550/week
  • Up to $1000 housing allowance
  • Supplemental travel allowance.

Eligibility: 

  • NEIU Earth Science major
  • Minimum GPA 2.5
  • Complete Physical Geology or Intro to Earth Science with a C or better by May 2013
  • Complete a Chemistry course at any college level with a C or better by May 2013
  • Able to work well in a team
  • Willing to work hard in laboratory or field, potentially in adverse (esp. hot and humid) weather conditions
  • U.S. citizen/permanent resident and eligible to work in the U.S.
