NEIU Ask Me! Campaign

Ask Me! Campaign

The ASK ME! Campaign kicks off the first few weeks of each Fall and Spring semester to welcome to campus first year, transfer and returning students and answer questions and inquires.

In part, the campaign fulfills the NEIU Strategic Goal One, Action Step 1.5, to:

"Improve coordination among student and academic support programs and services with a focus on quality, customer service and intentional integration with the curriculum."

The ASK ME! campaign serves to:

  1. Create an even friendlier, more caring and engaging campus environment.
  2. Lessen anxiety felt by students by providing answers in a personalized manner.
  3. Encourage greater participation of faculty and staff in Student Affairs.
  4. Help improve coordination among services.
  5. Foster an enriching campus experience, leading to greater student retention.

The Office of the Dean of Students coordinates information tables with campus resources. Across campus, program and departmental staff, faculty and student leaders wear the official ASK ME! button and display the campaign logo.

To learn more about the Ask Me! Campaign, review the highlights from the Fall 2011 Ask Me! Campaign.

All staff, faculty and student leaders are invited to participate by completing these 3 easy steps:

  1. Register online at: http://www.neiu.edu/~deanstu/askMeOnlineEnrollmentForm.html

Minority Student Mentoring

The first year of college can be interesting, adventurous and fun, yet challenging. The Minority Student Mentoring program serves first year students who have little prior knowledge of the college experience. The program connects student on a personal level with university faculty or professional staff that cares about their academic and professional development and educational success.

During the Fall semester, the Minority Student Mentoring Program (MSMP) matches mentors and mentees. The program kicks off with a fall welcome reception and ends with a holiday gathering. Throughout the year, mentors and mentees meet individually. The Partners for Success: Minority Student Mentoring Program is another way partnerships grow and have a lasting impact on a student’s overall retention and success.

For more information about MSMP, contact Ms. Llacuna in B 119 or at F-Llacuna@neiu.edu.

University Ambassadors

The University Ambassadors Program is an outstanding program for student leaders to showcase their leadership skills. Students who are selected as University Ambassadors participate in major university events, both on and off campus, as guides, marshals, speakers and hosts. In addition, they conduct tours and provide information about the university to guests.

The University Ambassadors are a very important group of students at NEIU. They represent the best of the student body in both acts of service and leadership. Throughout the academic year, Ambassadors partake in numerous programs and events. The leadership and professionalism displayed by University Ambassadors extend beyond our campus and into the Chicagoland community.

If you are interested in participating in the University Ambassadors Program, please download and complete the following forms:

If you are unable to download the University Ambassadors forms provided on this web page, you can stop by the Dean of Students Office in Building B, Room 119 for a complete application packet.
