About Marc
Marc Raskinski is the Learning Technologies
Specialist with Northeastern Illinois University. Marc has worked within
technology at a considerable capacity spanning out over 15 years. At his
last position as an Educational Technology Consultant, with the CCIM
Institute, Marc provided support at various levels to staff, instructors,
designees and students; pertaining mostly with Blackboard and technology in
general. Prior to this and in relating more so to this position, Marc had
worked with Pacific Resources for Education and Learning (PREL) in Honolulu;
which is a regional educational laboratory. PREL provided educational
services to the Ministries and Departments of Education throughout the
islands of the Pacific that qualify under the Compact of Free Association.
Marc provided education, technical support, infrastructure implementation,
conference workshops and was contracted for special projects though the
local governments of the Hawaiian Islands, the Territory of American Samoa,
the Territory of Guam, the Commonwealth of the Marianas Islands, the
Federated States of Micronesia (Pohnpei, Kosrae, Chuuk, and Yap), the
Republic of Palau and the Republic of the Marshal Islands.
Marc also
developed and led a cadre of technology professionals in education and
health positions around the Pacific. This created a support network for each
major island group and allowed for regular communication and assistance
between site visits. The distance communication mediums used included: video
teleconferencing, email, conference calls and the provision of resources on
Blackboard. This resulted in a network that helped with technological needs of
the education and health Ministries and Departments of the region.
Marc has a
solid understanding in providing for those in need, he strives to remain
open and approachable and likes people. In addition to his experience with
Blackboard, training and system support, Marc also has experience with telecommunications, special needs technology and electronics.
Marc’s
personal interests include; Entomology, Geology, Fishing, being near the
water and the never ending pursuit to improve.
