D2L Faculty Training

The faculty-training materials below are geared toward faculty at various levels of skill and interest in using technology-assisted teaching. Select the training materials that match your interests best!

In-Person Training In-person training sessions for D2L will be offered between March 31 and April 12, 2014. The training for the Desire2Learn system takes place over two 2-hour sessions. Each session will be offered several times, with Part A and Part B each repeated over a two-week period. All sessions take place in Room B 105. Here is the list of training offerings:

Part A (2 hours):

  • D2L Basics A (Creating Content, Grades, Discussions & Communication)
  • Retention Tools A (Intelligent Agents, Rubrics)
Mon, Mar 31: 10:00 a - 11:50 a
Wed, Apr 2: 4:00 p - 5:50 p

Part B (2 hours):

  • D2L Basics B (Dropbox & Assignments, Quizzes/Tests/Exams)
  • Retention Tools B (Offset Dates, User Progress, General Q&A)
Mon, Apr 7: 10:00 a - 11:50 a
Wed, Apr 9: 4:00 p - 5:50 p

How to Sign Up

  • Please sign up for both one Part A session and one Part B session (they do not need to be on the same day/time both weeks).
  • There is a maximum of 19 participants per time slot.
  • Registration is first-come, first serve. If you must cancel or change, please remove your sign-up.
  • Bring a portable USB drive containing your syllabus and any opther course files.
  • Sign up for Part A at http://doodle.com/4k247s3e8eutn5i2 and Part B at http://doodle.com/i7t6p3r2gtzfh6qg.
  • Sessions with fewer than 5 registrants as of March 28, 2014 must be canceled, so be sure to sign up as early as possible in order to lock in your registration.
Self-Paced Training The D2L Instructor Self-Paced Training Guide NEW 3/18/2014 walks you through the training process, and includes a way to get credit for completing the training.

Expect to spend approximately 3 hours completing the self-paced training.

Bare Bones Guide

The D2L Bare Bones Guide assists you in creating a minimum set of face-to-face course-support tools in your Desire2Learn (D2L) course environment.
