Return to Give Back
Alummi
of the NEIU Upward Bound Program spend an average
of three years in the program. After feeling a part
of the program and seeing the results of their own
growth in pursuing their education, some students,
even prior to their graduation, want and express
the desire to work as tutors in the Upward Bound
program. Every year more than half of the tutoring
staff are alums of our program. Some tutors have
also worked as tutor coordinators during the summer
program. Most of our alums who return to work in
our program are in college and tutor throughout
the school year in our in-school tutoring and/or
Saturday Institute program.
