Teachers As Writers offers a unique approach to professional development, beginning with the belief that teachers who are aware of their own writing process are better able to help their students become confident writers. Guided by experienced educators who are also practicing writers, teachers write and share their work in a supportive community of peers.
 
  • A community of teachers who are passionate about their own creative writing and sharing stories with supportive peers.

  • Led by published writers and professional development specialists at the Chicago Teachers' Center

  • Proven classroom approaches to writing and reading.

  • Writing sessions presented as workshops that appeal to grown-up interests, intelligence and considerations.

  • Saturday workshops held several times during the course of the school year.

  • Summer Intensive sessions offer CPDUs.
