Excel Basics for Educators

This workshop will give participants the opportunity to try out
Microsoft’s Excel spreadsheet program to make class rosters
and do basic grade book type functions, as well as use
some of the program’s tools to make graphs and charts.
First we format and sort cells to explore options of using Excel
to make rosters.  Then we will go over the basic
functions to sum or average grades.  Finally, we will use the
“Chart Wizard” and explore the possibilities of having
students represent their data in simple and colorful ways.

Gr. 3-8 Hands-on Exploration

We are so used to seeing ice float in our drinks that we don’t
realize how really unusual that is!  Take this opportunity
to become better acquainted with the three primary states
of matter and how they change.  This is a very simple
experiment to take back to your students.
