Film Education Initiative
The goal of CTC’s Film Education Initiative is to help students identify pathways to post-secondary success. By developing an appreciation of films and engaging with all aspects of film production, students:
- Discover new perspectives on issues of most concern to them
- Learn to effectively collaborate as a team towards a goal
- Develop skills that are readily transferable to high school and on to college
Students learn about careers in the film industry and how to prepare for them through tours of colleges offering film and digital media programs, guest speakers from the film industry, apprenticeships in film production, and help with financial aid and scholarships.
At the heart of the initiative is CTC’s Summer Film Institute, an intensive, two-week pre-professional program that immerses high school students in the filmmaking process.
CTC’s Film Institute Staff is composed of individuals dedicated to education, using film as a vehicle for student success.
